McCain Fails "Made In America" 101

It's easy for conservative politicians to support big business or propose laws that reduce the quality of life for everyday people when they don't have a realistic picture of what's going on.

For example, turns out John McCain is under the impression that Apple produces the iPad in the good old USA. Which of course is not true. It's desighed here, but they are produced in China. Same for iPods and iPhones.

Story HERE.

You wonder why some of our elected officials suggest and act on initiatives that are really harmful to the average U.S. citizen, and I think one big answer could be? Well, they're simply so out of touch that they don't know what they're talking about.

You marry together that type of ignorance and detachment with a healthy dose of that old disproven "supply side" economic theory (cutting taxes for the wealthy and corporations along with deregulation) so many conservatives love and believe will benefit everyone...and it's not surprising we're in the mess we're in.
